The Finance Ministry has abolished the windfall tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF), crude products, diesel, and petrol, effective immediately as of December 2, 2024. This tax, imposed in July 2022 to capture revenue from rising global crude prices, included special levies on domestic crude oil production and exports of these fuels. The notifications regarding this withdrawal have been laid in Parliament.
